The Woman was an Artist - Session 2

Beverly Smith

Mondays, March 21 – April 18 (five weeks)
4:15 – 5:45 p.m.
*This course is limited to 25 participants.
Women such as Hildegard of Bingen, Gentileschi, Vigee-Lebrun and Cassatt, to name a few, were known in their own time but were neglected in museums and art literature until their resurrection in the 1970s. The significance of and contributions of these artists to the history of art and culture is now being explored, and this course will present many of those talented women artists for your appreciation. The wonderful thing is that there is now an abundance of information available on these artists and this session will cover artists from the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century. This course is not for women only!
