Weekly Recap 11/12
The Shorewomen opened the week with a 138-64 win over Salisbury University. The win continued the streak to 31 straight wins over the Sea Gulls. WC then ended the week with a 74-134 defeat to Swarthmore College.
In the win versus Salisbury, seven different Shorewomen won individual events. Junior Tricia Markey came in first in the 500 freestyle, and second in the 200 freestyle. Versus Swarthmore, senior Katie Gorman and junior Julia Portmann each won two individual events.
WC will host St. Mary’s (Md.) on Friday at 6 p.m.
The Shoremen also opened the week in winning fashion with a 142-63 victory over Salisbury. They then ended the week with versus #24 Swarthmore, dropping the meet 94-111.
Sophomore Aidan Sullivan and freshman Brett Edwards each earned three first-place finished in the win. On Saturday, the team broke the pool record in the 200 freestyle relay. Seniors Cody Weiler, Kevin Mackenzie, sophomore Jake Brown and Sullivan were the four to break the record.
Up next for WC will be a home meet versus St. Mary’s (Md.) on Friday.
The Shoremen open up their season this Wednesday when they travel to Salisbury.
The Shorewomen will tip-off their season this Friday and Saturday when they compete in the Dan Greene Memorial Invitational.
