Men’s Soccer:

The Shoremen opened the week with a 1-0 victory in a road conference match versus Swarthmore. Scoring the long goal for WC was freshman Greg Adams, who found the net off of a header in the 30th minute. 

WC then hosted Franklin and Marshall on Senior Day, dropping the game 5-0. The Shoremen celebrated the careers of Debashish Goenka, Skylar Clark, and Chris Gingrich.

On Tuesday the team will travel to Goucher in a 7 p.m. non-conference match.

Women’s Soccer:

The lone match of the week for WC came versus Cabrini where they drew 1-1 in a non-conference match on Tuesday. 

Scoring the sole goal was senior Steph Scott, who was assisted from junior Olivia Sabatino. Sabatino now has 43 total points in her career, placing her 3rd all-time in program history.

WC will play their home finale versus Ursinus College on Wednesday as they host The Bears at 4 p.m.

Field Hockey:

WC celebrated Senior Day in fashion with a 3-1 victory over visiting Roanoke College. With the win, the team improved their record to 9-6.

Scoring two goals for WC was freshman Kailyn Brandt. Junior goalie Morgan Domanico had a stellar performance in goal with 9 saves. 

The Shorewomen celebrated the careers of Katie Arnold, Sami Bialozynski, Michaela Conners, Courtney Rainey, and Liza Slavin. The team will host Ursinus College on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. home conference match.

Volleyball:

WC split a tri-match on Senior Day with a win over Hood College and a defeat to Elizabethtown College. 

Senior Taylor Horan became the ninth player in team history to surpass 1,000 career digs. In the win over Hood, senior Alaina Geissberger had a team high 11 kills. Horan had 56 assists and 14 digs.

Seniors Horan, Geissberger, Sarah Bentley, Amy Rohn, and Emily Houck were honored before the two matches. WC will host Ursinus College on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. conference match. 

Women’s Swimming:

The Shorewomen opened up their season with a tough opponent in Division I Delaware where they dropped the meet 185-70.

Senior Katie Gorman took second in the 50 freestyle while junior Jenni Clune placed second in the 100 breaststroke.

WC opens their conference schedule with a home meet versus Franklin and Marshall College on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Men’s Swimming:

The Shoremen also opened their season versus Delaware, where they competed in a 182-75 loss.

Freshman Leo Johnson swam a second-place time of 2:01.21 in the backstroke, already making him WC’s 10th-fastest swimmer ever in that event. He also was third in the 100 backstroke.

WC will host Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday at 1 p.m. for their season opener as they look to start strong in their first Centennial Conference meet. 

Men’s Rowing:

The team competed at at Head of The Charles on Saturday and Sunday in Boston, Massachusetts as they had their best finish in the collegiate four since 2008.

WC’s club four finished 36th of 52 crews on Saturday. The collegiate four finished 25th of 30 crews on Sunday.

This was the final regatta of the Fall season for the program. 

Sailing:

To finish out their fall season, the team hosted the Central Fall Open on the Chester River where team “1” finished in fourth and team “2” finished in fifth out of 16 teams.

For the “1” team, sophomore Will Sunkler skippered into fifth as he sailed with freshman Sophia Bryla. Junior Skipper Paul Hart and freshman crew Haley Wilt sailed into eighth.
