Psychologist Laura Sproch, an outpatient therapist and researcher at the Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt in Towson, will talk Monday, Feb. 16, at 7:00 p.m. about how to recognize the illness and how to promote healthy attitudes about weight and body image.

CHESTERTOWN, MD—Laura Sproch, a clinical psychologist and outpatient therapist at the Center for Eating Disorders (CED) at Sheppard Pratt Health System, will speak at Washington College Monday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. Sproch will discuss the warning signs of an eating disorder, how to find help for yourself or someone else, and how to promote body acceptance. The free event will take place in Decker Theatre, Gibson Center for the Arts, on the College campus, 300 Washington Avenue.

Dr. Sproch has spent many years working with eating-disorder patients at all levels of care as well as conducting her own research on effective treatment methods. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical/School Psychology at Hofstra University and joined Sheppard Pratt’s CED in 2011. 

Her talk is sponsored by the student group SHIELD (Students Helping to Improve Each other’s Lives Daily).
