CHESTERTOWN, MD—There are still a limited number of tickets left for the fourth annual Empty Bowls benefit dinner to be held this Thursday, April 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Garfield Center for the Arts, downtown Chestertown. Sponsored by the Washington College Service Council in partnership with RiverArts and the College Dining Services, the event benefits the Food Bank of Chestertown.

Tickets are $15 for students, $20 for adults, and $10 for children 10 and under. All proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Chestertown. To reserve tickets, call 410-778-7752 or e-mail student_affairs@washcoll.edu. At least 80 of the 100 tickets had been sold by mid-week.  Doors will open at 5 p.m.

Event attendees will receive a simple meal of bread and soup served in handmade bowls created by local potters, community members, and WC students. The bowls are a keepsake to take home as a reminder that there are ‘empty bowls’ everywhere.
