CHESTERTOWN, MD—To kick off the holiday weekend, the Riverfront Concert Series at Washington College presents a free evening of music by Them Eastport Oyster Boys on Thursday, July 3 at 6:30 p.m. on the Custom House lawn, corner of High and Water Streets. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic, lawn chairs and blankets; free lemonade and cookies will be provided. 

Recognized as Musical Goodwill Ambassadors to the City of Annapolis, the Maritime Republic of Eastport, and the Chesapeake Bay, Them Eastport Oyster Boys have educated, amused and delighted thousands with their special message of stewardship and appreciation for the Bay and its unique maritime culture and history. These amiable troubadours celebrate life along the shores of the Chesapeake through song and story, and mirth. Anyone who loves being on or near the water will find an affinity with these musicians and their philosophy that the three basic necessities of life are “a good hat, a good dog and a good boat!” The Boys’ spirit and wide variety of musical styles—folk, island rhythms, traditional Celtic, Dixie-swing, maritime chanteys, haunting waltzes and rock-and-roll—have been featured in numerous national and international radio, television, and film productions. The band’s songs and stories have been shared as far as the shores of Nova Scotia, Ireland, Europe, and Australia. 

The next and final concert in the series will be July 17, when the dynamic duo of Victoria Vox on the ukulele and Katie Chambers on cello perform.  Concerts are organized and sponsored by the C.V.
