The “Harvard Chassid” visits Chestertown
Location: Roy P. and Nan Ans Hillel House
CHESTERTOWN, MD—Washington College Hillel presents a talk with the “Harvard Chassid,” Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Wenglin, on Thurs, Nov. 7. Wenglin’s talk, titled “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover,” is geared toward college students and addresses Jewish perspectives on truth and reality. The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. in the Roy P. and Nan Ans Hillel House, 313 Washington Ave.
Wenglin graduated from Harvard Law and received his J.D. from UCLA Law. He began his career at a Manhattan law firm but decided to put his successes on hold to travel to Israel and study his Jewish heritage. He began taking classes at Aish HaTorah, a yeshiva in Jerusalem. After completing his education there, he became the Director of Education at Yeshivat Lev Yisrael, where he later served as Executive Director for three years. Today, he is an in-demand speaker on tour in the United States visiting Hillel organizations on college campuses.
