Emily Hall ’14 gained practical experience she can apply to her student teaching semester.

Hall began working at the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center in Washington D.C. as a museum education intern over the 2012-2013 winter break. For the summer of 2013, she was offered a full-time teaching position working with 3-5 year-olds. Working for the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center has helped Hall learn how to incorporate place-based learning and learning through objects into her daily lesson plans. Hall enjoyed spending mornings taking her students to museums, monuments, and other educational places throughout Washington DC, and in the afternoon, she enjoyed teaching art and music enrichment. Hall is eager to apply what she has learned from SEEC into her own classroom when she begins her student teaching in the spring of 2014.
