March 28, 2019

On March 28, the Career Development Center, Alumni and Constituent Engagement team, Wilmington Alumni Chapter, Washington College alumni, parents and friends joined Professors Harvey and Mayer as they took their classes on a road trip for a successful night of networking.

Fifteen alumni, two parents, two friends, five faculty members, five staff members, fifty students and our amazing President filled a room in the Wilmington Westin. Students engaged in conversation that helped them turn the page to career readiness.

Prior to the networking hour, the Career Development team held a workshop to help students prepare for networking etiquette, elevator speeches and rehearsed conversations on site at the Westin while alumni and friends networked amongst themselves. The students and guests then came together to practice their networking skills, exchange business cards, and gain invaluable career information.

This is the third event in a series of off-site professional networking events for students this year. Previous events were held in D.C. and Annapolis. If you are interested in hosting an event or volunteering to help a student, please contact the Office of Alumni & Constituent Engagement.
