A panel of four practicing lawyers will share their experiences with students who are considering law school and a future in the profession. The event is March 24 at 5:30 in Hynson Lounge.

CHESTERTOWN, MD—On March 24 at 5:30 p.m., Washington College will host a panel on “Life after Law School” for those interested in pursuing the legal field after graduation. The discussion will take place in Hynson Lounge at 5:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The panel provides experts in several areas of the legal profession: 

James Carll P’10 ’13 specializes in corporate law at New Jersey-based Archer & Greiner, where he is Chair of the Board of Directors. He is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, financings, corporate governance, securities laws, and not-for-profit organizations.  

David Frees III P’12, is the head of Trust, Estate and Wealth Preservation at Unruh, Turner, Burke & Frees in Pennsylvania, where he also co-chairs the firm’s Elder Law Solutions section. He is an experienced speaker and presenter in these areas and has appeared on more than 120 radio and television programs, including interviews for NPR and PBS. 

Barbara Mattox P’14 is director of tax policy and senior tax counsel for General Electric in Washington D.C., where she takes the lead on Congressional and Treasury Department initiatives. She joined General Electric in 2001 after a thirteen-year partnership at Davis & Harman LLP. 

At his firm Paul J. Noto, PLLC in Mamaroneck, New York, Paul Noto ’77 P’10 ’14 specializes in legal areas that include real estate and land use, planning and zoning, environmental law, litigation, corporate law, matrimonial law, family law and trusts and estates. He also serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Rye and as General Counsel to the Westchester Joint Water Works.
