Jazz of Ian Trusheim Opens Concert Series

The free noontime concert on Friday, September 4, will offer music by Trusheim’s Frequency Exchange quintet, whose lively mix includes influences from funk to folk.

CHESTERTOWN, MD—The Washington College Music Department resumes its free monthly concert series 12@Hotchkiss this Friday, September 4, at noon with a performance by the jazz group, Ian Trusheim’s Frequency Exchange. The event takes place in Hotchkiss Recital Hall inside the Gibson Center for the Arts on the College campus. 

Trusheim is a Baltimore-based musician who graduated from Washington College in 2007. His quintet samples from a diverse selection of music genres —funk, Latin American, electronica, soul, hip-hop, rock, and folkloric music across the globe — to  conceive its lively, contemporary jazz. 

The free 12@Hotchkiss Series offers noon-hour concerts on each first Friday of the month during the academic year, featuring acclaimed musicians from the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
