In a Feb. 11 discussion, Hopkins University political science professor Steven David joins WC’s Joseph Prud’homme to talk about Iranian nuclear development and its impact on the Middle East and beyond.

CHESTERTOWN, MD—On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the Washington College chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society will host a free, public discussion titled “The Threat of a Nuclear Iran.” Beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Hynson Lounge, Hodson Hall, the event will feature Steven David, professor of political science and Vice Dean for Undergraduate Education at Johns Hopkins University. 

A member of the Hopkins faculty since 1981, David has written extensively on world politics in publication that include Foreign Affairs and International Security. He holds a B.A. in political science from Union College, an M.A. in East Asian studies from Stanford, and a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard. 

Also speaking will be Washington College associate professor of political science Joseph Prud’homme, director of the Institute for Religion, Politics and Culture, which is co-sponsoring the event. Discussion will focus on Iranian nuclear development, its impact on the Middle East, and U.S. efforts to halt the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the region. 

The mission of the Alexander Hamilton Society is to promote constructive debate on basic principles and contemporary issues in foreign, economic, and national security policy. The Washington College chapter is one of more than 40 at colleges and universities across the country.
