CHESTERTOWN, MD—Jonah Goldberg, one of the nation’s most widely read and influential conservative columnists, will visit Washington College on Thursday, April 25, to lecture on “The Future of American Conservatism.” Hosted by the Institute for Religion, Politics, and Culture, Goldberg will speak at 6:00 p.m. in Hynson Lounge, upper level of Hodson Hall, on the College campus, 300 Washington Avenue.  The event is free and open to the public.

Goldberg’s syndicated column, which addresses a range of topics from political philosophy and economic policy to pop culture, appears in major newspapers across the country, including the Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer and San Francisco Chronicle. He is the author of several critically acclaimed books. His debut, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning, was a number-one New York Times bestseller and one of the most controversial political books of 2008. His newest book, The Tyranny of Clichés – How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas, was released in 2012.

A contributing editor of National Review, he also is founding editor of National Review Online, where hecontributes a popular regular feature called “The Goldberg File.” A former Washington columnist for The Times of London, hehas written about politics and culture for a wide array of other publications that include The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Commentary, The Wilson Quarterly, the Weekly Standard, Slate, TheStreet.com, and Food and Wine.

Beyond print, he has been a guest on numerous television and radio shows, from “Good Morning America” and “Today” to “The Daily Show” and “Politically Incorrect.” He also serves as a Visiting Fellow of the American Enterprise Institute.
