Candidate for Governor to Visit Campus
-
Republican candidate for Maryland's top job, Larry Hogan.
Location: Hynson Lounge
CHESTERTOWN, MD—Republican gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan will visit Washington College on Monday, September 22, to talk about his campaign to become Maryland’s next governor. The talk, hosted by the Political Science Department and College Republicans, will take place at 5:00 p.m. in Hynson Lounge, Hodson Hall, on the College campus, 300 Washington Avenue.
Hogan, 58, is founder, CEO and President of the real estate brokerage firm The Hogan Companies, based in Anne Arundel County. He served as the state’s Secretary of Appointments from 2003 to 2007, when fellow Republican Robert Ehrlich was governor. After the 2010 elections, Hogan founded the nonprofit political organization Change Maryland, which defines its mission as “fighting to bring fiscal restraint and common sense to Annapolis.”
In 1992, Hogan was the Republican nominee trying to unseat Representative Steny Hoyer in the Fifth Congressional District. His father, Lawrence J. Hogan, Sr., served as a Maryland Congressman (1969 to 1975) and as Prince Georges County Executive (1978-92).
