Weekly Recap 4/8
Women’s Lacrosse: The Shorewomen picked up a 19-9 win at Muhlenberg College on Saturday, April 8th. The win was highlighted around senior attacker Katherine Vincent, who broke the Centennial Conference career and single-season records for free-position goals and tied a single-game school record with 11 total points.
The win over the #20 ranked Mules puts WC at 2-2 in conference play. Vincent scored 9 goals and had 2 assists while sophomore Cecily Docktor had 4 goals and 2 assists.
WC will face-off with Bryn Mawr on April 15th for a 1 p.m. away conference game.
Men’s Lacrosse: The Shoremen followed the success of women’s lacrosse, picking up a 13-3 victory over Muhlenberg. WC scored the final game’s 7 goals to improve to 2-2 in Centennial Conference play.
Leading the way for WC was junior Tyler Powers and sophomore Casey Grieves, both with three goals. Junior goalie Ben Flood had another stellar performance with 11 saves, while allowing just three goals.
WC returns to action on Wednesday, April 12 for a 7 p.m. home conference game versus Haverford College.
Softball: The Shorewomen traveled to McDaniel College where they split a conference double-header, putting them at 4-3 in Centennial Conference play.
In the first game versus the Green Terror, junior pitcher Taylor Harcum struck out 7 seven batters, while allowing five hits and two runs. Senior Erin Spinden went 2-3.
In the second game, WC tallied for 11 hits while scoring 9 runs. Junior pitcher Milly Kawabata picked up her first career win in the circle.
WC will square off with Swarthmore on April 11th in a conference double header which will start at 3 p.m.
Baseball: The Shoremen started the weekend off on Friday defeating Swarthmore College in walk-off fashion. The team then traveled to Gettysburg College where they dropped both games in the conference doubleheader.
In the first game versus Gettysburg freshman Ryan Zwier went 2-3 with an RBI. In the second game, senior Charlie Meder went 2-4, while junior Matt Tancredi hit a double, pushing his hitting streak to 9 games.
WC returns to the diamond on Wednesday, April 12 for a 3:30 p.m. home game versus Haverford College.
Women’s Tennis: WC dropped a 5-4 game versus Haverford on Tuesday. Juniors Julie Lazer and Rachel Martinez continued their dominance with a win.
The team returns to the court on Wednesday, April 12 versus Swarthmore at 4 p.m.
Men’s Tennis: The Shoremen faced off with Haverford on Wednesday, where they lost 5-4. Senior Jermey Novick and junior Luke Weaver won their doubles match 8-6.
WC will travel to Muhlenberg on Sunday, April 9th for a 12:30 p.m. conference match.
