Weekly Sports Recap: 1/13/17
Women’s Basketball: The Shorewomen opened the week with a 63-59 victory over visiting Ursinus College on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Senior guard Ali Grundy had a team high 24 points, going 4-6 from three-point range. Freshman forward Cassidy Quattro had a game high four blocks along with her 5 rebounds.
On Thursday, Jan. 12, WC suffered a 71-60 defeat when they traveled to Franklin and Marshall College. Grundy scored another team high 22 points, which made her the first player in history to score at least 20 points in four consecutive games.
The Shorewomen will host Dickinson College for a 4 p.m. start on Saturday, Jan. 13 in the Cain Athletic Center.
Men’s Basketball: The Shoremen opened their week with a 86-85 overtime loss to Ursinus College. Junior Joey Shelton had a team high 20 points. Senior James Drury followed with his 14 points and 6 rebounds.
WC then traveled to Franklin and Marshall where they lost, 84-72. Shelton led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Brandon Berry had 11 points and three assists.
The Shoremen will host Dickinson College for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday, Jan. 13 in the Cain Athletic Center.
Swimming: Both the Men’s and Women’s swimming teams traveled to Florida for their annual training trip. Their meet scheduled for Jan. 14 has been cancelled.
