On Monday, November 19th, Literary agent and Sophie Kerr Winner Michele Balze ‘89 will provide an overview of the whys and hows of marketing fiction and some cautionary tales. 

Michele Balze began teaching college English at University of Rochester as a Graduate Assistant. More recently, she taught in the Professional Writing Program at University of Maryland College Park and the Humanities Department of University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

She founded Ornery Literary Agency in 2008 after having completed an MFA at Southampton College, LIU. Her client list includes authors from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington.  Ornery Literary Agency is a small literary agency devoted to marketing authors to print publishers. The Agency handles communications between authors and potential publishers. Its mission is to maintain authorial integrity in a growing electronic market.
