November 01, 2017

Terrance Hayes, an American poet and National Book Award for Poetry recipient in 2010, came to the Literary House on November 1st, 2017 to read from a selection of his poems.  Hayes read aloud from a number of his more recent sonnets, all titled: American Sonnet for My Past and Future Assassin, and ended with a thoughtful Q&A session.  The Literary House was packed full of both students and members of the Chestertown community, all excited to listen to and appreciate Hayes’ poetic artistry.
