Weekly Recap 10/15
After a 3-2 overtime victory over Haverford College on Wednesday, the Shorewomen have already clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament.
Scoring the game-winning goal for WC was junior Nicole Schroyer, coming off of an assist from junior Olivia Auer. Also scoring goals for WC were freshman Grace Steele and Kailyn Brandt.
To close the week, WC hosted #13 Franklin and Marshall College, which resulted in a 2-1 loss. Senior Michaela Conners scored the lone goal for WC in the first half.
The Shorewomen will host Roanoke on Saturday in a 1 p.m. non-conference game.
WC went 1-1 in a home tri-match versus Franklin & Marshall and Alvernia.
In the game versus F&M, freshman Abby Smith had a career-best and match-high 14 kills and 19 digs. Senior Taylor Horan had another contest-best of 33 assists. Versus Alvernia, Horan also had 28 assists and 10 digs.
The Shorewmen clinched another winning season as they travel to Swarthmore College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. conference match. The team will have it’s Senior Day on Saturday when they host Elizabethtown at 12 p.m.
Behind a game-winning goal from junior Arianna Sabatino, WC sent off their seniors off in fashion with a victory over Franklin & Marshall College.
WC also collected a goal from junior Olivia Sabatino. With the goal from Olivia, she became the all-time points leader in Shorewomen soccer history.
WC will travel to Cabrini on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
WC played an overtime match versus Haverford College which resulted in a 2-1 advantage to the Fords.
Scoring for WC was junior Christian Keller, his third on the season. Keller’s goal was assisted by freshman Greg Adams.
The Shoremen travel to Swarthmore College on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. conference match. The team then hosts Franklin and Marshall College on Saturday for Senior Night, starting at 7 p.m.
The Shorewomen competed at Navy Day Regatta, as they raced two crews in the open/collegiate eight, two in the open/collegiate four, and one in the collegiate frosh/novice eight.
The “A” boat for WC placed 14th of 28 boats while the “B” boat was 24th/
WC will scrimmage at Navy next Saturday.
The Shoremen raced two crews at Navy Day Regatta where they raced two crews in the open/collegiate eight and four in the open/collegiate four.
The “A” boat finished 12th out off 22 crews in the open/collegiate four while the “B” boat was 13th and “C” in 17th.
The team will compete at Head of the Charles on Saturday and Sunday next weekend.
The team finished 15th of 18 teams at Luce Regatta during a span of two days.
WC finished 15th in the A Division and 11th in the B Division. Skippering for WC included Paul Hart and Henry Proud.
WC hosts the Central Fall Open this upcoming weekend to finish their Fall season.
