All in the Family
The College’s Registrar takes delight in her students—and in being a new mom.
Ashley Turlington is a name most students recognize from incoming emails marked highly important. As the Registrar, Ashley works at the heart of students’ everyday life from behind the scenes, as she is in charge of transferring academic credits, graduation requirements, and academic regulations. Since she began working at Washington College in 2011, Ashley has found the motivation for her work in those she serves. “I like working with the students the best; everybody seems to know everybody’s name.”
Outside of work, Ashley has found her happiness in her family. She and her husband welcomed a new member of the family just over a year ago, and her son is the centerpiece of her office decorations. Photos of him are placed across her desk and walls, and nobody can help but to grin at his chubby cheeks smiling brightly at them.
“‘Goose’ is one word that he says a lot,” explains Ashley, smiling as she glances at photos of her son. The College mascot, Gus the Goose, would be proud of Washington College’s tiniest member’s growing vocabulary!
