American Picture Series: Edmund Morris

The “American Pictures” series at the Smithsonian continued with its third installment when Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Edmund Morris Morris offered a provocative take on Reagan through a close look at a short video sequence of the president’s visit to a German concentration camp. The footage helped inspire his 1999 biography Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan. After the lecture, Dr. Donald McColl led a gallery tour, conversing specifically about still life and presidential portraits.
