IBM Executives Speak

Washington College alumnus Norris Commodore ‘73 brought two of his IBM colleagues to campus to celebrate IBM’s 100th anniversary with an event entitled “IBM at 100: An American Icon’s Global Impact on Business and Corporate Citizenship”. He is the Director of IBM Worldwide Contracts and Negotiations, as well as a member of the Washington College Board of Visitors and Governors.Catherine Lasser, IBM Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Global Distribution Sector of IBM Sales and Distribution, and Sally Scott Marietta, Program Manager for IBM Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs, covered IBM’s wide area of interests and its involvement in community service. Before the lecture, students participated in an informal dialogue with the visitors as well as a formal dinner. These students represented the Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor SocietyWashington College Students in Free Enterprise, the Mathematics and Computer Science major and Information Systemsminor, and the Global Perspectives: Research and Writing Program.
