The Kohl Gallery’s “ArtNOW: Baltimore” exhibition presented five Baltimore-based contemporary artists whose choice of media is vastly different, but the themes of the works are interrelated, reflecting upon the creative identity of their city. ArtNOW: Baltimore is the first of a series of shows slated to feature art from nearby cities, including Washington DC and New York.
The cardboard boat regatta is part of the Center’s Waterfront Festival from 12:00-4:00 PM on September 21st. River cruises aboard the 46-foot Callinectes, sailing, kayaking and canoeing on the Chester River, good food and family fun, exhibits on watershed ecology, pony rides, and live music by the Michael Butler Band highlight the festival.
Allison Speight ‘14 and Emily Harris ‘15, both graduates of the 2012 Chesapeake Semester, were recently awarded the Environmental Science Scholarship from the Friends of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
