SANDBOX presents “WaterLines: RiverBank”

The 2015 SANDBOX Distinguished Visiting Artists present a multi-disciplinary, site-inspired installation and performance event in the former Chestertown Bank building, 211 High Street.

Architect/artist Ronit Eisenbach (team leader), choreographer Cassie Meador, composer Aleksandra Vrebalov and biologist/artist Jeni Wightman collaborate to transform the empty Chestertown Bank building into an immersive art experience that reflects the town’s river setting and cultural history.

Light, video, projected image, sound and dance movements will combine to transport observers and alter their sense of place.

The installation opens at 7:30 each evening, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. On Thursday night at 8:00, the main performance component of WaterLines will feature dancers who will lead a procession from the bank to the river’s edge at the end of High Street. (In case of inclement weather, the dance performance and procession will move to Friday night.)

The events are free and open to the public and are also part of Chestertown’s celebration of Earth Stewardship Days happening throughout the month of April. For the complete schedule of events:
