Goldstein Program in Public Affairs: The Growing Importance of Asia for the United States

In this day and age, it is not difficult to see the economic sway Asia holds over the rest of the world. Pick up almost anything you own, and the “Made In” label on it will boast the name of an Asian country. But how does Asia directly affect Maryland? A panel of experts will discuss why Asia matters.

The panelists speaking at this program are:

Dr. Satu Limaye, Director, East-West Center in Washington

Dr. Ellen L. Frost, Visiting Distinguished Research Fellow, National Defense University (and former Counsellor in the US Trade Representative Office and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense)

Mr. Matthew Daley, Past President, US-ASEAN Business Council (and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State)

The program will be moderated by Dr. Andrew Oros, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Studies, Washington College

The program is sponsored by the Goldstein Program in Public Affairs; it is free and open to the public.
