Autism Awareness Day

Please join us tomorrow, April 2, 2014 in observing World Autism Awareness Day.  We are asking that members of the Washington College Community wear the color blue in support of promoting awareness of Autism.

Join us for a campus photo at 4:00pm in front of the Casey Academic Center.

Some of you may have noticed last night that the cupolas of the Casey Academic Center and William Smith were blue last night. These buildings will continue to light up blue until Wednesday night!

The Office of Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with the Athletic Department, Office of Academic Skills, and Student Athlete Mentors, will be selling Autism Awareness pin for $2.00 in the lobby of Hodson Hall Commons.  The Washington College Bookstore has agreed to provide a 20% discount on one item of clothing if you come in wearing your Autism Awareness pin.

During the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse games, the Women’s Field Hockey team will be selling concessions, with a portion donated the Pathfinders for Autism along with all the proceeds from the autism pins. Pathfinders Mission is to  “improve the lives of individuals with autism and the people who care for them. We accomplish this through a variety of programs and services, all of which are offered FREE of charge.”

In addition to World Autism Awareness Day, the spring athletic teams will be promoting Autism Awareness during the month of April.  Please come out and support the athletic teams.
