Chesapeake Heartland Community Curation Event

The National Museum of African American History and Culture collaborates with the Kent County Community, Washington College, and the Starr Center to digitize historic documents.

The National Museum of African American history and Culture’s Community Curation in collaboration with Chesapeake Heartland: An African American Humanities Project, connects African American communities across generations by preserving our history and sharing stories, photos and videos to Museums’ online community collection.

  • Bring your personal, organizational and family history material for digitization by Smithsonian’s Digital Team.
  • Participate in workshops about oral history, photography and local history
