Chris Smith ’11 Lecture at Beta Beta Beta Induction
Dr. Christopher Smith will be delivering the keynote address for the inductions of new members into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society (Friday 26 April at 5pm in Litrenta Lecture Hall). He holds a B.S. from Washington College (’07), and D.D.S. from University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He also completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the San Antonio Military Health System, and holds the rank of Major in the United States Air Force. Major Smith is a decorated military surgeon and educator and an accomplished researcher. He is currently the Assistant Director of the Womack AMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Ft Bragg, and has recently been recognized as United States Air Force Dental Educator of the Year (2017) and the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group Field Grade Officer of the Year (2017).
Major Smith will be talking about his medical practice and research, education and mentoring of military maxillofacial surgeons, and most importantly, how he channeled his undergraduate preparation in the sciences, and critical thinking, careful communication to a career in innovative clinical medicine.
