C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience
The C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience is named in honor of Cornelius Vander Starr.
Starr was an entrepeneur who founded a family of insurance and financial service companies
now known as American International Group. In 1955 Mr. Starr founded the Starr Foundation,
a philanthropic organization which makes grants in a number of areas, including education,
medicine and healthcare, human needs, public policy, culture, and the environment.
