First Place in 2021 and 2020 Undergraduate Value Portfolio Competition

05/01/2021

For the past several years, Quinnipiac University has held a very successful conference in New York City to interact with a wide range of financial industry leaders and students from colleges and universities across the globe. This forum brings financial experts together to participate with students and discuss a wide range of topics and further explore in workshops and breakout panels.

In addition, participating colleges were encouraged to enroll their respective student-run investment funds in a Global Portfolio Competition. With over 1,500 participants registered to attend, representing 158 colleges and universities, Washington College’s Brown Advisory Student-Managed Investment Fund won the first place prize in the Undergraduate Value Portfolio category in 2020, outperforming 40 other schools based on calendar year 2019 performance. In 2021, based on calendar year 2020 performance, Washington College’s Investment Fund has won first place in the Value Portfolio category again.

Congratulations to the students who contributed to this performance as well as all of the alums who have participated for many years since the Fund’s inception. Also, a special thanks to Jim Price who had the foresight and appreciation for experiential learning for Washington College students by creating this Fund.
