Required Citation Format

The Political Science Department has adopted the “Chicago style” footnote reference system for all political science courses beginning in Fall 2008.

Thus, students in our courses are required to document their sources in all written assignments based on the guidelines set in The Chicago Manual of Style. In short, this style marks a citation with a superscript number that guides the reader to the bottom of the page where the full citation of the work you are using is located. We also expect you to submit a “Bibliography” page at the very end of each assignment that lists all of your sources alphabetically. The links below offer assistance in mastering this style.
