Professor Amick














Aaron is originally from Penn Run, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Juniata College, where he did research for Dave Reingold and Richard Hark. He moved to Boston College to complete a Ph.D. in the lab of Larry Scott, where he focused on designing new chemical methods for the synthesis of flat and curved polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. After receiving his Ph.D. in 2008, Aaron joined the laboratory of Liz Jarvo at the University of California, Irvine where he worked on designing new nickel-catalyzed coupling methods. Aaron joined the faculty at Washington College in the Fall of 2009 and his research group focuses on the design of new chemical methods to create curved PAHs and the synthesis of soluble fullerenes for use as antioxidants.
