Eshan Patel

Class of 2013
Biology and Psychology (Premed) / Chemistry

Eshan Patel ‘13 attended a high school twice the size of Washington College. So he appreciates the family atmosphere of the John S. Toll Science Center, where he and other young scientists are working closely with their professors to hone their skills in the lab, learn how to write scientific papers, and determine their career focus.

His classes have ranged from health psychology and green chemistry to cell biology and biochemistry.

After graduation, Eshan begins a two-year postbac fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, supported by an NIH Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA). He will be studying molecular-based international HIV epidemiology at Johns Hopkins under the mentorship of Thomas Quinn, MD, MSc.  Dr. Quinn is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health and Chief of the International HIV/STD Section at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
