Sociology Club

The Students for Social Awareness/Sociology Club is a student organization for any student with an interest in sociology and related social issues.

The club provides students the opportunity to network with others interested in the field of study, hold discussion events, invite guest speakers, organize field trips, and participate in social activism. Since 2006 the club has collected over 2000 pounds of nonperishable food for the Community Food Pantry through the Washington College Canned Food Challenge. The club has also sponsored winter clothing drives for the Kent Family Center through their Mittens for a Movie events.

Students interested in joining the club can contact the club advisor, Dr. Erin Anderson at, or sign up for the club listserve to keep current on activities and events.
