  • 7:30pm: Formosa Quartet
    As part of it’s 2017-2018 Premier Artists lineup, the Concert Series presents the Formosa Quartet. Winners of both the First Prize and Amadeus Prize at the London International String Quartet Competition, Formosa Quartet is “one of the very best quartets of their generation.” On several numbers, the Formosa Quartet will be joined by Woobin Park, piano.   • 7:30pm - 9:00pm: Phamaly Theatre Company
    Phamaly Theatre Company (pronounced “family”) is an award-winning Colorado-based theatre company that engages audiences in thinking about diversity, inclusion, and disability through the lens of theatre. Comprised entirely of performers with disabilities, Phamaly is known for their groundbreaking reinvention of conventional stories, creating what have become some of the most entertaining and moving experiences available to Denver audiences. As part of their two-day residency at Washington College, 4 members of Phamaly will offer a retrospective of the troupe’s work over the years, including songs, monologues, and skits from our shows like The Wiz, Side Show, Beauty and the Beast, as well as their original programs Vox Phamalia and Cinevox, etc. This event is co-sponsored by the Cater Society of Junior fellows and is FREE.

  • 7:30pm: The Mashups
    As part of its 2017-2018 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents The Mashups, a trio of musicians specializing in genre bending. Their passion lies in mixing Beyonce with Bizet and coupling Porter with Puccini. They break all the rules while taking the audience on an adventure through opera to jazz to musicals to Motown and back again. Advance tickets are available through Eventbrite.

November 2nd, 2017

  • 7:30pm: Anansi Trio
    As part of its 2017-2018 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents the Anansi Trio. A fusion of Jazz, Indian, and Afro-Cuban musics, the Anansi Trio features Mark Merella (drums), Matt Beltzer (saxophone), and Larry Melton (bass). Advance tickets are available through EventBrite.

    The Department of Music presents the Student Honors Recital.  Student soloist and chamber ensembles are selected for this concert via competitive audition. This event is FREE and open to the public.

  • 7:30pm: Symphonic Band with Brass & Saxophone Ensembles
    The Department of Music presents the Washington College Symphonic Band (Keith Wharton, Director), with Brass (Davy DeArmond, Director) and Saxophone (John Thomas, Director) Ensembles. This event is FREE and open to the public.

February 2nd, 2018

  • 12:00pm: Trio Simpatico

    As part of its 2017-2018 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents Trio Simpatico who performs eclectic chamber music with an orchestral bent. Simpatico’s unusual instrumentation of clarinet, horn, and piano borrows from orchestral timbres. Audiences remark, “…It sounds like a whole orchestra.”

  • 7:30pm: Lydia Artymiw, Pianist
    As part of its 2017-2018 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents Lydia Artymiw, pianist. During her distinguished career, Lydia Artymiw has performed with over one hundred twenty orchestras world-wide, has enjoyed solo recital tours in all major American cities, many important European music centers, and throughout the Far East, has released 7 solo recordings, and has collaborated with such celebrated artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Richard Stoltzman, Arnold Steinhardt, Michael Tree, Kim Kashkashian, Marcy Rosen, John Aler, Benita Valente, and the Guarneri, Tokyo, American, Alexander, Borromeo, Daedalus, Miami, Orion, and Shanghai Quartets.
