  • 6:00pm: Electric Brigade, Free Outdoor Concert
    As part of its 2016-2017 Premier Artists lineup, the Washington College Concert Series presents Electric Brigade, the U.S. Navy’s premier popular music group. This FREE family-friendly program will take place is Martha Washington Square. Bring a blanket and come enjoy some great pop/rock music!

  • 7:30pm: Dai Shihan (Grand Master) Michael Chikuzen Gould, Shakuhachi
    As part of its 2016-2017 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents Dai Shihan (Grand Master) Micheal Chikuzen Gould.  This event is co-sponsored by the Global Education Office, the William James Forum, and the Department of Philosophy and Religion. As one of only a handful of non-Japanese to hold the title of “Dai Shihan,” Chiukuzen will perform the shakuhachi, a traditional Japanese 5-holed flute. Advance Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

    The Department of Music presents the Student Honors Recital.  Student soloist and chamber ensembles are selected for this concert via competitive audition. This event is FREE and open to the public.

  • 7:30pm: Jazz Band & Jazz Combo
    The Department of Music presents the Jazz Band, led by John Thomas,  and the Jazz Combo, led by Joe McCarthy. This event is FREE and open to the public.

  • 3:00pm: Symphonic Band
    The Music Department presents a FREE concert featuring the WAC Symphonic Band.

February 1st, 2017

  • 7:30pm: U.S. Naval Academy Brass
    As part of its 2016-2017 Premier Artists lineup, the Washington College Concert Series presents The United Stated Naval Academy Brass. This FREE concert is a collaboration between members of the US Naval Academy and WAC Faculty & Students.

  • 8:00pm: Music Department Showcase
    The Department of Music presents a showcase production, featuring many of our ensembles. The program includes World Music elements (Afro-Cuban Ensemble, Japanese Ensemble) as well as Electronic, Jazz, and Vocal music.

  • 7:30pm: Grupo Gato, Cuban Music & Dance (9 piece band)
    As part of its 2016-2017 Premier Artists lineup, The Concert Series presents Gropo Gato, a 9-piece Cuban Music & Dance ensemble.  The featured singer and bandleader, Ernesto “Gato” Gatell, is one of the most recognized and beloved Cuban singers alive today.  The group comprises several percussionists, singers, sax/trumpet, and rumba dancers. Advance Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

    Sponsored by the Washington College Music Department, this program will explore the wide spectrum of music that has been brought to the mass audience through the medium of film. Repertoire is still in the planning phase, but will include a few familiar classical excerpts as well as many unforgettable songs by popular artists.
