"John Muir and the Mountains of California:
Prospects for Environmental Thinking and Writing"

Dr. Long is Professor of English and American Studies and the coordinator of first-year writing at Keene State College, New Hampshire's public liberal arts institution. Dr. Long's professional experience in the study of environmental writing includes serving on the executive council of ASLE, the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment, and on the editorial advisory board of its journal, ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment. He is the co-editor of the book Teaching North American Environmental Literature, recently published by the MLA.
