Best Buddies

Best Buddies | Washington College

Best Buddies at Washington College is committed to working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and creating friendships that will last a lifetime.

Who We Work With

Best Buddies at Washington College works with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Chestertown and Kent County community. We work with an organization called the Kent Center.

What We Do

We work with these adults with IDDs and provide one-on-one friendships with the Buddies. Each college student is paired up with a Buddy from the Kent Center. The College Buddy meets with their Buddy twice a month and contacts their Buddy at least once a week.

How We Do This

We hold events twice a month during the school year. During these events we talk, go bowling, watch movies, dance, play sports, and have a lot of fun! We hold events at Washington College and the Kent Center where we get to hang out with our Buddies.
