Fall Movie Night: Bright Star
Date: 6:00pm EST December 7, 2018
Literary films, popcorn, and snacks—what could be better? Come enjoy films picked by students and Lit House staff. Be sure to stay afterward for a rousing discussion of the evening’s movie.
This 2009 film directed by Jane Campion focuses on the last three year of the poet John Keats’s life, and his romantic relationship with Fanny Brawne. The film includes many of Keats’s poems, including “La Belle Dame sans Merci,” and “Ode to a Nightingale,” as well as the sonnet which inspires the title. Run time: 119 minutes.
Please note: All of our other events are open to the public, but the Lit House movie nights are meant for Washington College students only. Thank you!
