Washington College provides self-paced virtual instruction for the working Maryland law enforcement or criminal justice professional who wants to develop or expand their knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop, ENVI EX or Trimble GPS for use in crime mapping and analysis. While pursuing the completion of the workshop, students will have access to knowledgeable instructor via email, phone, live chat or screen sharing sessions. Funding for law enforcement provided through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention by the Edward J. Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program.
As a result of the overwhelming interest in this resource, a course has been specifically designed with analysts in mind. The GIS for Crime Analysis course teaches the basics of the ArcGIS software while focusing on specific tools used for analyzing crime patterns.
