As part of an effort provided by the Chestertown Historical Trust, the Washington College GIS Lab has been working to render 3D versions of all of the buildings in historical Chestertown, Maryland.
The GIS and 3D rendering of selected properties within Chestertown’s Historic District is funded by the Maryland Historical Trust, through a Certified Local Government Grant to the Town of Chestertown.
The Washington College team has started modeling Chestertown’s waterfront and will then be moving into town toward Cross Street. The goal of the project is to model the entire town in 3D.
As the Washington College team completes new buildings they are posted to our Google 3D Warehouse (Note: You may need a Google account to access the collection). Here you can view individual buildings in Google Earth, rate and comment on them. All of the buildings contained in this collection have been created by Washington College students. For more information about this project, please contact Kelsey Newcomb, our GIS Office Manager.
