Commencement Guest Confirmation
This page contains information for students who have registered guests for Commencement for May 22, 2021 (Rain Date: May 23, 2021).
Thank you for registering your guests! You will receive an e-mail confirmation within 72 hours to confirm your guest registration has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 72 hours, please contact email@example.com.
COVID Testing and Results
Your guest will need to email the results of their negative test to Health_Services@washcoll.edu. They should be emailed no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21.
We recommend you start looking around now for options that will most likely allow you to be tested and get a result back with 72 hours and prior to May 22nd. If you are not confident that any of the options will be able to provide results of your test quickly enough, we will allow you to take a COVID test as early as Monday, May 17 which should allow sufficient time for you to get your results back before you travel to Chestertown. There are several options, including rapid PCR tests at urgent care clinics or pharmacies, mail order tests like the Pixel Labcorp test, and other options that can get you results in that 72-hour window prior to May 22.
Anyone (graduate or registered guest) with a positive COVID test or without proof of a negative test by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21 will not be permitted to attend or participate in the commencement ceremony. As a reminder, the ceremony will be livestreamed.
Even if you are fully vaccinated we are still requiring proof of a negative PCR COVID test. Even vaccinated individuals can get the virus and/or transmit it to others (although that risk is certainly less than for un-vaccinated people) and we want our ceremony to be as safe as possible!
Check-in and Seat Assignment
Upon arrival to campus for the ceremony, guests will be directed to the main entrance and Roy Kirby Stadium for check-in. Guests will need to provide a photo ID. Upon successful check-in, guests will be given a paper ticket with a seat assignment.
If your guest needs access to seat assignment specific to a disability related accommodation (wheelchair, sight-line seating for ASL interpretation, etc.), please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Guest E-Mail Confirmation
All registered guests will receive an e-mail the week of May 10, 2021 be contacted with the provided e-mail the week of May 10, 2021 with some reminders and tips for attending this year's ceremony.
