Admissions Office Coronavirus Information:
Washington College is closely monitoring the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the recommendations from the Governor of Maryland and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to take every measure possible in order to keep our community safe and healthy (You can view WC’s Coronavirus Response page here).
The Washington College community is a family and we are here to support you. Below you’ll find answers to some questions and concerns you may have, which include the steps we are taking. We hope this alleviates some of your stress and worries as you continue through the college exploration and decision process.

I signed up for Admitted Student Day on campus; what do I do now?
If you were registered for our on-campus Admitted Students Day, you have been automatically registered for our new Virtual Admitted Students Day! You can learn more about Virtual Admitted Students Day here.
I scheduled a visit to campus and now it is cancelled; can I still learn about WC?
Yes! You can find our web-based resources (including online information sessions and a virtual tour) at the bottom of this page! Your Admissions Counselor is also happy to answer any questions about WC you may have.
Is the Admissions Office open? Can I come visit?
The Washington College campus is operating at restricted access. Following the recommendations given by the Maryland Governor and the CDC, we transferred our on-campus events to virtual experiences and are temporarily suspending on-campus activities.
Will the COVID-19 outbreak impact my chance of admission if I live in an area impacted by the Coronavirus?
No, the COVID-19 outbreak will not have any impact on the decisions made by our Admissions Office for the timeline of decisions. Every student’s application will receive the same fair review.
Will WC extend the decision deadline due to the coronavirus?
While we encourage students to deposit on or before May 1, we understand that the pandemic is taking a toll on the decision making process. In light of this, our deposit date has been extended to June 1 for anyone who needs the additional time.
What does the COVID-19 Relief Package mean for my Financial Aid?
The Student Financial Aid office is monitoring closely the effects of the COVID-19 Relief Package that was signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020. The Department of Education is working to provide institutions with guidance they need to assist their students. To that end, we have not yet received that guidance. We would be happy to provide your information to the Student Financial Aid staff and when more information is available, they will reach out to you.
