Maker Bootcamp

Calling all Creators, Innovators, and Makers!

Join us in our Maker Bootcamp in IDEAWORKS, Washington College’s campus Innovation Suite and Makerspace!  In our bootcamp, you’ll learn about some of tools and trends in the Maker Community, and get your hands on the 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC router, micro controllers and more!

In addition to personal projects you’ll get to create and keep, you’ll get to work as a team on some of our Sustainable Energy Projects:

Solar Heat Collector Project

As a team, we’ll utilize some of the cutting edge design and fabrication tools in IDEAWORKS to create two large passive solar heat collector from recycled materials, and plan it’s installation on campus.

Electric Boat Racing Team

Join our development team in designing and building the next iteration of our ongoing electric boat project!  For the last two years, our student team has participated in the annual Wye River Electric Boat Marathon, a grueling 25 mile all electric boat race on the eastern bay.  Learn all about electric vehicle technologies and help us with our current vessel, a 42’ ultra-light weight carbon fiber electric catamaran!  We’ll get to venture out on the Chester River for some test-runs as well to tune the systems and prepare for our races in September and October.
