Washington College Summer Conferences
Location Information

Driving through beautiful rolling farmland into Chestertown visitors are welcomed by the scenic Chester River with colonial houses and weeping willow trees lining its shores. Lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of the Schooner Sultana, which is one of the most authentic sailing ships modeled after a ship from the British Navy, as it heads out on one of its daily passenger excursions. Continuing through to downtown Chestertown, conference attendees could enjoy a stroll through the tenth most popular hisorical place to visit in the United States. Original colonial buildings dating back to the eighteenth century, along with antiques stores, and lazy summer day cafes are a perfect afternoon activity.

For conference attendees at Washington College, the downtown area is not the only historical site of interest. Washington College was founded in 1782 and is the tenth oldest college in the nation. It is the only college in the United States that was named for President George Washington with his personal blessing and endowment. Walking through the beautifully wooded campus amongst the richly historic settings is another highlight of a conference held at Washington College.
