Following a $3 million renovation, Washington College welcomed William Smith Hall back on-line in time for the new academic year. In the interest of preserving the architectural interest and historic character of the building, the College opted, where possible, to repair instead of to replace, to recycle materials like chalkboards and moldings, and to preserve distinctive features like the open stairways. A new computing center and faculty offices are welcome additions. w BurtonBalloons
