As part of the National Student Employment Week celebration, the College community extends a gracious "thank you" to all of its student employees for their contributions. Across campus, student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative.

One of Melissa Messina '14's jobs at Miller Library is to print out papers for students.
Sam Bitzelberger '14 works at the Multimedia Productions Center as a Consultant. As part of her job, Sam rents out video and photography equipment, as well as helps students plan and work on their multimedia projects.

Caitlyn Klein '11 and
Thomas Landskroener '13 are two student workers at the Help Desk, located under William Smith Hall. They work with computers troubleshooting and assist professors, faculty, and students with any computer problems.

Caitlyn Klein '11 is a Level II Student Tech Consultant.

John Anderson '11 is the Student Supervisor at the Help Desk, as well as a Level III Student Tech Consultant.
Rachel Dumbolton '13 works in Admissions on the third floor of the Casey Academic Center, answering phones, greeting prospective students, and setting up interviews and campus tours.
Nicholas Hall '13 on his job as Carl Crowe's personal assistant, "I also keep morale up by being high spirited and having an upbeat sense of humor."
Nicholas Hall '13's job entails overseeing several databases for Student Affairs, filing, and occasionally completing assorted tasks that Carl asks him to do.

Cody Evans '14 works at a Student Affairs Assistant at the office on the second floor of the Casey Academic Center. When describing his job he says, "I pretty much answer the phone, answer questions that parents and students have, and help keep this school running with all the Deans and other student workers here."

Daniel Hudson '14 is one of the many students that pick up mail from Central Services every day. Many students enjoy getting e-mails from Central Services that they have a package to pick up. Daniel commented on his trip to the mail room that day by saying, "I enjoy receiving large cylindrical packages."
Chris Reese '11 enjoys his work at Central Services, especially driving around campus in the mail cart. "Each day, I deliver mail to the campus via use of the Central Services Mail Cart. The job is rewarding because it keeps mail deliverers constantly moving and constantly thinking about which stop comes next on the route! It's definitely a convenient way to earn some extra spending money!"

At the Math Center, in the Miller Library, you can find Emily Hordesky '12 who works there as a tutor. Here she helps Tessa Port '14. Emily is one of the many tutors there who enjoys her work, "I work in the Math Center for Washington College, and I basically help students who come looking for help with math homework or if they're struggling to understand concepts being discussed in their class. I'm a math major, and I love helping people, so this job is perfect for me!"

Hilary Badger '14 is one of the many swimmers at Washington College who works as an instructor.

Mark Yankovich, a graduate student at Washington College, works at the Assistant Swim Coach and Lifeguard Supervisor. He coaches swim team distance groups, recruits swimmers to the school, and schedules lifeguards so that all shifts are covered.

Emma Jackovitz '13 works as an instructor and a lifeguard at the pool. Here she is during lessons helping one her students learn how to swim.

Samantha Gross '14 with one of her students during swimming lessons. She's one the swimmers in charge of the youngest age group of children. She helps teach them proper swim techniques and water safety.

Tad Derrich '14 works as an instructor and lifeguard at the pool. When Tad works as a lifeguard he keeps the pool safe. He is in charge of guarding pool members and students swimming for exercise and recreation. He is one of the five student lifeguards, who are required to be certified in lifeguarding and CPR for the professional rescuer.
Ross Mills '12 is another swimmer who works as an instructor at the pool. His students are part of the older age group, so he works on more complicated swimming techniques with them.
