During spring break, Washington College students, staff, and faculty helped build a Habitat for Humanity home in Columbus, Georgia. The students forged new friendships and enjoyed a great sense of community while making a major impact on the family who will be occupying the house.
Kelly McClure '03 raised $3,635 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in Team In Training, the world's first, best and largest charity sports training program. View her photo and online journal.
The Alumni Board and Kent and Queen Anne's County Chapter collected non-perishable food during the War on the Shore lacrosse game. Food items were collected at the stadium gates and graciously accepted by the Community Food Pantry.
Alpha Chi Omega held its first annual "Cinderella's Closet" on April 4, 2009. The event entailed cocktails, a runway show, food, music, and a Silent & Live Auction. The proceeds from the event were donated to The Mid-Shore Council for Family Violence. Following the events, the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega will hosted a "Cinderella's Closet Gown Giveaway" at the Alley Teen Center in Chestertown. During the Gown Giveaway, girls from the community had the opportunity to try on and select a gown of their choice for the upcoming prom season.
WC students worked on four homes, two duplexes in a new multi-income and unit development called Milestone on Clay in Easton. The community is being built by Habitat for Humanity of Talbot and Dorchester Counties in partnership with Elm Street Development and several other local companies as well as a large and committed volunteer and donor corps. Lorraine Kenton Polvinale '69 P'98 & Tom Polvinale '70 P'98, Kristina Tatusko '88, Michael Henry, Kendall N. Schwartz '82, and Eleanor Shriver Magee '93 donated food to help feed the hard-working volunteers.

The Wilmington Chapter volunteered to help the Chesapeake City, MD St. Patrick's Day parade. All proceeds were donated to The Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware.
The Wilmington Alumni Chapter participated in a Point-to-Point Event at Winterthur on May 3, 2009. Many alumni participated in the fun yet charitable event. Proceeds from the tickets supported the Winterthur Museum & Country Estate.
Jeanne A. Clark '07 ran a marathon in Boston supporting nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts University.
