Commencement 2012 Schedule

The 2012 Commencement will be a special time for parents and their graduating sons and daughters. Please note, parents and friends are invited to attend the events listed below in bold faced type.

Thursday, May 17

4:00 p.m.- 12:00 p.m. Senior Excursion to Mt. Vernon (for graduating seniors only)

Dinner/Dance aboard the Spirit of Washington. Bus transportation provided- all students are required to utilize the bus service to attend. Students must depart from and return to school.

Friday, May 18

8:15 a.m. Sho'men Club Golf Tournament
Registration at 8:15 a.m.; Tee-off at 9:00 a.m.
Chester River Yacht & Country Club

Reservations required. For more information, call Susanne Kelly in the Athletic Department at (410) 778-7231 or (800) 422-1782, ext. 7231.

10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Reunion and Commencement Registration
(Tickets will be held for pick-up. Families with meal and/or on-campus room reservations should pick up their packets at this location.)
Alumni House

12:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Senior Class Luncheon
(Seniors and Faculty)
Miller Library Terrace

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Commencement Rehearsal (mandatory for graduates)
Caps, gowns, Commencement rain location tickets and All-Campus Picnic tickets (one complimentary ticket per graduate) will be distributed only at rehearsal.

Saturday, May 19

8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Reunion and Commencement Registration
Families with meal and/or on-campus room reservations should pick up their packets at this location.

9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Bookstore Open
Casey Academic Center

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. All-Campus Picnic
Senior tickets compliments of the Alumni Office. Ticket price for others to be determined.
Campus Lawn

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Dinner On Your Own
Enjoy dinner at an area restaurant (early reservations recommended) or remain on Campus and join the Alumni Reunion Dinner.
Hodson Hall Commons

8:30 p.m. Fireworks Celebration in honor of our patron, George Washington

9:00 p.m. - Midnight Commencement Dance

Campus Lawn  (Rain Site: Benjamin A. Johnson Fitness Center. In the event of rain, graduates will be issued a very limited number of tickets. Tickets will be distributed to graduates at rehearsal on Friday.)

12:30 p.m. Commencement Reception
President and Mrs. Mitchell B. Reiss invite graduates and their families to a reception.
Martha Washington Square

Accommodations

Friday and Saturday night accommodations are available in single/double occupancy dormitory rooms. There is a charge per person (one night or two, linen packages included). No reservations will be taken until April 2, 2012. Special needs should be brought to the attention of the Alumni Office by May 1, 2012.
