Fall 2011 Update
In September 1942 my father gave me a map of Maryland and he dropped me off at the end of town to hitch hike to College. He didn't have an "A" stamp for gas and so wouldn't have enough gas to get to Chestertown and back to Western Maryland. I started in the freshman class of 1942. Uncle Sam wanted me more than the college. So, off I went for 3 years in the Navy Air Corps, spending time in the U.S. & the Pacific. When I returned some of my classmates where finishing their senior year.
I went to work in Philadelphia and didn't know where it was, until I got there! I was married to Lois in 1954. We have been married 57 years. We have a 56 year old son-Don-who likes to ski and attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. He has 2 sons attending L.S.U. Our daughter, Debby, an outstanding golfer attended S.M.U. in Dallas but transferred to the University of Kentucky and co-captained the golf team there. She and her husband, Frank take great pride in their straight "A" student daughter, Katy.
