Computer Giveaway

The computer giveaway will be held on January 15, 2013!

What is the Computer Giveaway? 
Every few years, OIT cleans out its closets and gives away some of the computer systems that have been returned from various departments around campus. While these machines are no longer up to the task of production work on campus, they are perfectly serviceable for home use.   All Washington College employees are eligible to receive a computer!
What do I need to do?
  • There is no need to register.  
  • The giveaway is first-come first-served in the Field House of the Johnson Fitness Center.  
  • Please print the Surplus Computer Distribution Agreement and bring to the JFC.  
  • Doors will open at 9 a.m. on January 15th!

Official Rules 

Complete giveaway rules:  All Washington College employees (full-time, part-time, faculty and staff) are eligible for the 2013 Computer Giveaway.  Computers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Johnson Fitness Center (JFC) from 9:00 am through 4:00 pm on January 15, 2013.   If computers are still available, the JFC will be open from 9:00 am through 4:00 pm on January 16, 2013.   Computers cannot be reserved ahead of time.  All computers are provided as-is. Systems will include as many of their original accessories as possible, but some may be missing components like keyboards or mice. Please plan to acquire these added items, if need be.  Computers will be provided with only their standard operating systems. No other software will be installed at the time of acquisition. Maintenance and installation of software becomes the responsibility of the new owner. Visit Helpful Tips for more information.  Upon receipt of a computer system, the new owner must agree to properly recycle all components at the end of ownership.
